1. Eligibility & Upfront Registration Verification Compliance
1.1 To align with the 2026 DCMS Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators and CAP promotional marketing rules, all participants must be aged 18 or over and permanent residents of the United Kingdom.
1.2 Unified Checkout Registration: To enter any competition, new users must create a customer profile directly on our unified checkout page. You must provide your full Legal First Name, Legal Last Name, Address, and exact Date of Birth.
1.3 Data Validation Consent: By participating in our competitions, all potential winners (including both paid online entrants and free postal entrants) grant us explicit consent to cross-reference their Name, Address, and Date of Birth against public and commercial records (including the UK Electoral Roll) to verify age and residency before any prize is officially released.
1.4 Account Permanence: Once submitted at checkout, your registered Date of Birth is permanently locked as read-only within your ‘My Account’ dashboard and cannot be altered by the user. Providing false data constitutes platform fraud under the Fraud Act 2006.
1.5 Anti-Proxy & Fraud Policy: You must only verify your own identity. Utilizing another individual’s documentation, banking details, or biometric profile constitutes severe platform fraud. The Promoter reserves the absolute right to manually suspend any account and request secondary verification, a live verification video call, or physical address documentation at any time. Any discrepancies will result in the immediate forfeiture of any prize entitlements, and the associated website account will be terminated.
2. The Promoter
2.1 The promoter is: Virtual Golf Ltd (trading as Virtual Golf Competitions), the owner and operator of https://virtualgolfcompetitions.co.uk. Company Number: 14477009.
2.2 Registered Office: Virtual Golf Ltd, Suite 414, 37 Westminster Buildings, Theatre Square, Nottingham, NG1 6LG, United Kingdom.
2.3 Support Contact: For all registration, verification, or competition queries, please contact our support team directly at support@virtualgolfcompetitions.co.uk.
3. The Competition
3.1 These terms and conditions apply to all prize competitions and raffles listed on the Promoter’s website.
3.2 The Promoter may offer different draw formats, including skill-based ticket lines, paid promotional options, and 100% free-to-enter online draws. A mandatory, compliant free postal entry route is always made available across all draws to guarantee continuous legislative compliance under UK law.
3.3 Competition Task: To be in with a chance of winning, everyone who enters a competition (an “Entrant”) will be required to correctly answer a question or solve a problem set by the Promoter (the “Competition Question”). Where the Promoter offers an easy/multiple-choice question, or where the Promoter chooses not to ask a Competition Question for a specific raffle, the mandatory free postal entry route remains available to ensure legal conformity.
4. How to Enter & Free Postal Entry Equity Framework
4.1 Competition Closing Date: All competition entries, including both paid online transactions and free postal entries, must be physically received by the Promoter by no later than the exact time and date specified on the live website countdown timer (the “Closing Date”). Any postal entries received after the Closing Date timer has expired will be automatically disqualified and will not be entered into the draw.
4.2 Mandatory Postal Prerequisite: To ensure structural equity between paid and free entrants under Section 339 of the Gambling Act 2005, anyone submitting a free postal entry must first possess a registered customer account profile on our website. Postal entries received from individuals without a corresponding website account profile will be automatically discarded with no entry numbers assigned. Age and residency verification will be conducted at the post-draw phase matching Clause 8.2.
4.3 Postal Submission Criteria: To enter a competition for free, you must send an enclosed first or second-class postcard directly to the Promoter at: Virtual Golf Ltd, Suite 414, 37 Westminster Buildings, Theatre Square, Nottingham, NG1 6LG, United Kingdom. Hand-delivered entries will not be accepted. Bulk entries sent in a single envelope or package will be counted as one single entry.
4.4 Required Information: Each postcard must be written clearly in English and must contain the following details, matching your pre-verified website account registration profile exactly:
- The explicit name or details of the active competition you wish to enter;
- Your full legal name;
- Your registered UK residential address;
- Your contact telephone number and verified account email address;
- Your answer to the specified Competition Question (if applicable).
4.5 Equal Processing & Late Entry Cutoff: Each valid postcard counts as a single entry and is subject to identical entry limits placed on paid lines. Entrants can submit free entries as many times as they wish up to any maximum limit per entrant placed by the Promoter. Valid postal entries received prior to the Closing Date are guaranteed an entry number and an equal chance of participation in the random draw alongside paid entries. If a valid postal entry is received after the Closing Date timer has expired, or if the competition sells out completely before the physical mail can be processed, the Promoter will credit the user’s site digital wallet with a flat value of £1.00 or the exact single ticket entry value of that closed competition, whichever is higher. This fallback credit framework is strictly capped at one single credit allocation per account holder, per competition, and applies only to postcards physically received by the Promoter within 7 calendar days of the competition draw concluding or the official Closing Date, whichever occurs sooner. Any postal entries arriving after this 7-day window has elapsed will be automatically discarded with no credits issued.
4.6 Paid Entry Route Checkout: Once an account has been successfully opened and verified, paid entrants select their tickets, answer the competition question, and complete their transaction via our secure Open Banking Gateway. Your order is officially accepted once our server records the transaction as completed. The Promoter will send email confirmation allocating your paid ticket numbers.
4.7 Single Account Restriction: Only one account per person is permitted. If any Entrant opens or tries to open multiple accounts using different email addresses, all of their accounts will be closed and the Entrant will not be permitted to enter any of the Promoter’s competitions.
5. Choosing a Winner
5.1 The Promoter may use different methods of choosing the winner, depending on the format of the competition:
- (a) Main Draw: All Entrants who correctly answer the Competition Question will be placed into a draw and the winner will be chosen by random draw within 7 days of the Closing Date (“Draw Date”).
- (b) Instant Wins: All Entrants meeting the entry requirements will be randomly allocated an entry number on completion of their entry. If the assigned entry number matches an instant win number stated on the website, the Entrant wins that prize.
- (c) Auto Draws: The Promoter may use an auto-draw system for choosing the winner of the Main draw and any Instant wins. The automated system will be set to randomly select a winner from all valid processed entries in the database the exact moment the Closing Date countdown timer expires.
5.2 Public Transparency: All Entrants will have their names and entry numbers included on a spreadsheet which may be published on the Website and may be visible during live draws. If you do not wish to have your name included on this spreadsheet, you must contact the Promoter via email at support@virtualgolfcompetitions.co.uk at least 48 hours before the live draw takes place. We remain legally required to provide full winning information to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) upon their official legal request.
6. Paid Transactions & Financial Data Processing
6.1 Secure Bank Transfer Processing: All online payments and wallet top-ups are handled directly via the Open Banking PIS platform. This setup uses bank-grade authentication protocols to process instant, secure bank-to-bank account funds movements.
6.2 Name Alignment Audits: To satisfy strict merchant security standards, the legal name on your funded UK bank account must match your pre-verified website registration layout. Any identified transaction name mismatches or proxy payment indicators will trigger an automatic security hold on your account pending an administrative review.
6.3 Site Digital Wallet & Refund Restrictions: We offer a secure site wallet system for faster transactions. The minimum deposit is £5.00, and the maximum deposit is £100.00. Unspent cash deposits funded directly by the user are fully refundable upon request. To prevent money laundering cycles and platform exploitation, refunds will only be processed and returned directly to the exact original bank account utilized during your original checkout process. Wallet credits issued via promotional prizes, marketing campaigns, or as late-entry fallback credits (under Clause 4.5) are strictly non-refundable and cannot be withdrawn as cash under any circumstances; these balances hold zero cash value and can only be used to purchase active competition tickets on the website.
6.4 Responsible Play, Spending Limits & Self-Exclusion: In alignment with the DCMS Voluntary Code of Good Practice, the Promoter provides formal consumer protection tools accessible directly within the ‘My Account’ user dashboard. Entrants can proactively set their own personal spending limits or trigger a temporary account block. Alternatively, if you feel your participation is becoming problematic, you may contact our support team at support@virtualgolfcompetitions.co.uk to request a formal, long-term Self-Exclusion block. Once activated via support, your account will be immediately locked, any remaining cash wallet balance refunded, and you will be blocked from logging in, depositing funds, or participating in any draws for a minimum mandatory period of 12 months.
6.5 Public Draw Disclosure: By purchasing an entry, you explicitly agree that your Legal First Name, Last Name initial, and ticket numbers will be published on our public entry list and broadcast live on screen during our video draws, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
7. Eligibility Restrictions
7.1 The competition is only open to residents in the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over, except:
- (a) employees of the Promoter;
- (b) employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
- (c) members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.
7.2 Behavioral Controls: The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition, including if you are rude, aggressive, or abusive to the Promoter’s staff.
7.3 Ticket Refunds & Disqualifications: Ticket entry fees are generally non-refundable. However, if an account is suspended or an entry is voided prior to the draw due to an Open Banking Name Alignment Mismatch (under Clause 6.2) or minor eligibility restrictions, the Promoter will void the entry and return the transaction funds directly to the original funding bank account to prevent unjust enrichment. Refunds will strictly not be issued if an entrant is found to have committed intentional platform fraud, identity theft, or severe policy violations.
8. Prizes & Dispatch Protocols
8.1 Availability: The prize for each competition is described on the Website. Prizes are subject to availability, and the Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize with an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
8.2 Post-Draw Verification Gate: To ensure full legal compliance, the Promoter retains the absolute right to conduct electronic and manual identity security searches using public records (including the UK Electoral Roll) to verify the age and residency of any selected winner prior to officially releasing any prize.
(a) Required Documentation Reserve: If an electronic database check fails, returns an unverified result, or if requested by the Promoter, the selected winner (including those who entered via the free postal route) must provide a valid government-issued photo ID (UK Passport or Driving Licence) and a utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 3 months to confirm physical address alignment.
(b) Verification Window: Winners must supply the requested documentation via secure email within 14 calendar days of being formally notified by the Promoter.
(c) Forfeiture and Redraw: If a winner is found to be underage, a non-UK resident, fails to provide matching verification documentation within the 14-day window, or provides fraudulent information, their entry is legally void, all prize entitlements are permanently forfeited, and no refunds will be issued. In such circumstances, the Promoter will conduct a redraw from the pool of remaining valid entries to select an alternative winner.
8.3 Vehicle Prizes: If the prize is a vehicle, it comes with a valid MOT certificate (if legally required). Road insurance, road tax, and collection expenses remain the sole responsibility of the winner. The winner must hold the necessary driving license’s to operate the vehicle safely and legally.
8.4 Technical Failures & Unavailability: If a competition cannot proceed or is cancelled due to a catastrophic website server error, technical failure, or if a prize becomes completely unavailable from the manufacturer, the Promoter reserves the right to issue a full refund of the ticket entry fees to all affected paid ticket holders, or substitute the prize with a cash alternative equal to the true retail value of the original prize.
8.5 Social Media Platforms: This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with TikTok, Instagram, Meta Facebook or YouTube. By entering this competition, entrants completely release TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube from any and all liability connected with this giveaway. Any questions, comments, or complaints regarding the promotion must be directed to Virtual Golf Ltd, not to any social media platform.
9. Anti-Money Laundering (AML) & Know Your Customer (KYC) Policy
9.1 Policy Overview: Preventing money laundering is a legal obligation. We monitor all entry routes closely for system abuse (such as credit card fraud or syndicates utilizing fraudulent postage stamps).
9.2 Ongoing Compliance Audits: While initial age and identity validation is performed automatically at checkout via Age Verify UK, the Promoter retains the right to request further manual documentation (such as a direct copy of your passport, driving licence, or utility bill) to assist with internal fraud investigations or bank transfer clearance.
9.3 Enforcement: If any Entrant fails to comply with an AML investigation, provides false details, or fails to provide requested manual identity documentation, their account will be immediately suspended or permanently closed at our sole discretion.
Terms last updated: August 2026.
